Born in Pennsylvania, Jen Hoy attended Princeton University in New Jersey and was selected by the Chicago Red Stars with the no. 25 overall pick in the 2013 NWSL College Draft. In five seasons with Chicago, she was one of the most consistent offensive performers for the club, tallying 15 goals and 10 assists on 51 starts over 72 matches played. Internationally, Hoy competed with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the U-23 level.
While playing at Princeton University, Hoy led the Ivy League with four game-winning goals as a sophomore. During her junior season, she earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors twice and started in 17 games. As a senior, she finished second in program history by scoring 18 goals in a single season. She was named the Ivy League Player of the Week three times as a senior, registering three hat tricks and scoring two game-winning goals.
